The Environment team has expanded rapidly over the past few years and brings together a wide range of knowledge and capacity in order to provide solutions to the variety of issues related to the environment. Our expertise covers a wide range of environmental areas including soil, water, air, wastes and noise and our consultants have an in-depth knowledge of environmental technology, legislation, regulations, management systems and communications.
We are looking for a Senior Renewables (Marine) Consultant to be responsible for the management and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for offshore renewable projects, including the coordination and leadership of multidisciplinary teams and management of the consenting and consultation processes. The location of the post can be based in either our Peterborough or our London offices.
The work will involve management of projects of various size, up to large EIA, with potentially several projects being managed and/or supported simultaneously, with extensive client interaction, and provision of senior support on all aspects of the business. The candidate will be expected to provide robust advice to other members of the team (including fostering the development of younger staff), be able to individually develop their own leads and promote rewarding business development, and assist in the smooth running and continued successful development of the team.
To ‘project manage’ the delivery and management of medium to large offshore renewables projects and project teams on their own or under the direction of another Project Director.
To provide technical guidance and project direction when appropriate.
To provide senior level support, as required, to the environment team in Peterborough or London and other area teams where specialism allows.
To make an active contribution to project work, to include report writing, organisation, consultation and project management.
To remain up to date with policy and legislative developments in the renewables sector.
To present in both external and internal arenas.
To lead and assist with proposal and contract preparation (client and subcontractors).
To contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives that deliver with the overall business development plan and develop a client list.
To represent and promote Royal Haskoning within the environmental market through the preparation of literature, attending meetings, conferences and workshops, etc.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the renewables industry, preferably in the wind farm sector and within the marine and coastal environment. Previous consultancy experience, along with a proven ability to project manage medium-large sized projects and track record of EIA will be essential. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience of the regulatory and legislative system.
